NorthStar Transitions is a licensed and Joint Commission-accredited drug and alcohol rehab center in the Boulder-Denver Colorado metro area. NorthStar Transitions works with male and female clients 18 and older suffering from addiction and substance use disorders.
NorthStar Transitions offers a range of flexible treatment options, from intensive outpatient programs to aftercare services. Most clients remain in the NorthStar Transitions continuum of care for 4-6 months.
Partial hospitalization programming (PHP) or “day treatment” is a highly structured and intensive level of outpatient care that involves individual therapy, counseling and support groups Monday through Friday, for up to 30 hours a week. Clients return to their own homes or a sober living residence in the evenings. Day treatment typically lasts for one to four weeks.
The next step in the continuum of care is intensive outpatient (IOP). At the IOP level of care, patients are re-engaging with work and/or school and continuing to attend group therapy sessions three days per week for three hours per group. Patients may continue seeing their individual therapist and psychiatrist as needed. Intensive outpatient clients may live in their own homes or in a sober living environment. IOP typically lasts for six to 12 weeks.
The outpatient level of care requires the smallest time commitment and is appropriate for clients who are secure in their recovery or working on the maintenance of their recovery, provided only as a step down from one of our other levels of care. At the outpatient level of care, clients see their individual therapist, family therapist and psychiatrist as needed.
